Grantee Spotlight: The Solutions Project

LDF grantee, the Solutions Project, recently announced a partnership with Amalgamated Bank, a U.S. based bank built on advancing progressive causes for a more sustainable world. The strategic partnership highlights the ability for cross-collaboration among nonprofit organizations and for-profit institutions that place value in caring for environmental and social good.

Amalgamated Bank will allow their customers to support the Solutions Project via two avenues: a direct donation program from customer debit card usage, or a direct donation whenever a customer switches to paperless statements.

“We’re excited to join forces with a financial institution committed to social responsibility and sustainable practices, and look forward to working with Amalgamated Bank to continue funding and supporting the development of new clean energy,” said Sarah Shanley Hope, Executive Director of the Solutions Project.

The Solutions Project aims to accelerate the transition to 100% clean energy for 100% of people. Activities include a 100% marketing campaign, direct investments in frontline leadership, and network building, which together seek to shift the public narrative and culture to be more inclusive, collaborative and celebratory.

The Fighter and Leadership Funds are two great examples of the type of grassroots work the Solutions Project supports. The Fighter Fund is a rapid response grantmaking program around 100% clean energy, whereas the Leadership Fund seeks to invest in longer-term strategies to build power for communities on the frontlines of climate change.

LDF is proud to support the Solutions Project and all the great work the organization does to empower voices towards clean, renewable energy.
